Subject: Texas Pullens
I am researching Texas Pullens and can't believe that I haven't got a connection here
somewhere.  I am hoping that you or someone else might have the connection.  I am
descendant from:
(1) George Washington Pullen born c. 1814 in North Carolina married to Mary Green
(2) Peyton P. Pullen born c. 1846 in Tyler County, Texas married to Sarah Deacon
(3) Cornelia J. Pullen born c. 1875 in Tyler County, Texas married to James Lee Davis
Any connections? Derrek Davis

Mary 'Polly' McCaleb. Elijah died in 1875 at Logan County, Ky.

Subject: Martha Hickman
If you find some info that you question, how do you contact the person who generated the
info to discuss it? Thanks,  Bob Barker
The info in question is the second marriage of the Martha Hickman below:
(81) Hope Hull6 Hickman, (John5, Joseph4, Joseph3, Francis2, Simon1) was born
16 Jan 1794 at Bourbon County, Ky., and on 2 Sep 1819 at Logan County, Ky., married
Margaret G. Rigg. Hope Hull died on 20 Jan 1846 at Logan County, Ky at the age of 52
years.
Children:
   226 i Joseph Patten7 Hickman was born in 1826.
227 ii Susan Hickman was born 25 Jul 1831, and on 10 Oct 1851 at Logan County, Ky.,

married William F. Page.
228 iii Martha Hickman was born in Sep 1837, and in 1850 at Simpson County, Ky.,
   married Samuel Morgan.
She also married William Page who was born in 1833.
Our Barker family records suggest that Martha married Noah Shelton Barker and not a
William Page after Samuel Morgan. And, after the death of Hope Hall Hickman, Margaret
(Martha's mother) lived with the Barker family until her death. Please review the below info to
discuss this new theory.  Thanks, Bob Barker

       Gender : Male

Subject: St. Francois Co., MO. Marriage date question
First, thank you for all your work in transcribing, especially these marriage records!!!!
Having these records on line has been IMMENSELY helpful!  I do have one question about
a date on the following, and wonder if there was any possible way it could be double checked?
St. Francois Co., MO. - Vol 4 - 1881-1887
Pg 411 - Marian SCOTT and Mrs. Nancy ALEXANDER.
It shows the license on the "14th" of June 1887, and the marriage on the "11th" of June 1887.
(I usually see that the other way around).
Do you think it actually read this way, or could this possibly be a small error?  If it is correct,
perhaps an extra note could be put with this entry explaining such could be done, thus keeping
people like me from bothering you!
Thanks again for all you do!!  Pat LaBrot
The license appears to have been issued on 11 June.  Thanks for taking the time to tell me
of my mistake.  I really appreciate such corrections.  BTW, I normally indicate exceptional
entries with (sic) to indicate I noticed the discrepancy and the entry is my truest copy.

Hi...I am searching for my fiance's Kennedy roots and was wondering if in your searching

Brian, I have benefited a lot from the info you have on you "Great Website".  All my paternal
ancestors lived in Jefferson Co. and adjoining counties: McMullin, Honey, Jameson,
Bates, Austin, (except my  grandmother, Emma O. Jayne who went to live there after she
married Elias Honey), so I have relatives related to many others in the area.
I have a John Staples married to Martha Whitehead, daughter of Robert Whitehead
and Nancy (Ann) McMullin.  Also, Emily Staples married to Peter Patrick McCormack
b. 1810, son of James N. McC and Susan Windes.  I am trying to locate info on my
grandfather Jesse Jayne, father of Emma O. Jayne.  He died in Mobile, Al in 1845 and
Emma married John Honey there in 1846.  So far I haven't been able to find them in Mobile,
and wonder if you can suggest sites to check for them.  I am really curious as to why Jesse
moved his family from to New York City to Mobile, AL, I'd appreciate any suggestions you can
give me.  Ellen McMullin MacKenzie

My Boyers go back a long way also, but if you ever get in with the Hansons, let me know
...I have searched for Daniel Hanson's parents  .. Daniel Hanson b. Jan 5 1786 Rockingham
County, Botetourt, VA d. Jun 2 1836
I do have Will of David Hanson 1750-1800 Botetourt, Va naming sons Samuel and Daniel,
so I was sure David was Daniel's father.
Now someone has discovered Daniel Hanson (wife Barbarba Brumbach) father is David's
brother John Hanson
, son of John Hanson-Jane Contee.
If you know of a Research Genealogist, I would be so glad to pay them to get this cleared
before I go to join them.

Subject: Sarah Mercille
You probably have the best website I have ever seen on the county records.  I have been
doing genealogy for quite some time and have visited your site each time there is an update.
For some reason I did not know of your personal heritage.  I read through it today and found
your Mercille/Maness connection.  My husband, Walter Hansel, had a grandfather,
Benjamin Walter Hansel.  His wife was Sarah Ann Mercille, which I didn't learn until
I received a copy of her death certificate.  When Sarah died, her daughter, Dolly, as the
informant, put her mother's parents down as being Elijah Maness and Nancy Muss.
So I did extensive research on Elijah Maness.  Later I found out that Sarah's name was
actually Mercille.  I have yet to unravel which line of Mercille's she descends from.  I think
her mother also was a Sarah Mercille, but in my research, it seems that her mother may
have been a Maness who married a Mercille

I am very interested in the following information found on your site :
(34) Joseph5 Hickman III (Joseph4, Joseph3, Francis2, Simon1) was born in 1759 at
Cecil County, Md., and in 1787 at Georgia, married Nancy Armstrong, daughter of John
Armstrong
and Anne (Armstrong), who was born in 1760 at South Carolina.  Joseph died
on 16 Jun 1834 at Lowndes County, Al. Nancy died in 1830 at Alabama
I also descend from a John and Ann Armstrong in South Carolina but till this time I only had
the names of only 2 children, William and John Jr.  I descend from John Jr.  I would love to
know for sure if this is the same John and Ann.  All I have on John Sr. is that he was massacred
by Indians in 1776 somewhere near the Greer Spartanburg line.  John and Ann owned land in
Greenville County reaching to what is now the Greenville / Pickens County, SC line.  I also noticed
you had a Hiott somewhere in your info.  John was killed right after a Hiott family was massacred
in the Indian raids.  I was told John had came up on some people who were killed and were burying
them when he was carried off.  I was wondering if you had any info on John and Ann.  I would be
glad to share what I have with you.  Janette Bryant, Greenville, SC

I have been receiving your updates on MO research over the past months.  I have been
looking specifically in Franklin Co., MO for my elusive Johns and Purdy relatives.
Today I took the time to look at your site more thoroughly.   I believe we are cousins.
I am a descendant of Elisha Perkins (b. 1697).  I believe his father was Richard Perkins
b 1663 England.  My mother is a Perkins.  Her mother a Purdy.  They met in Washington State.
I researched only two days in Raleigh's state archives  18 months ago.  Very nice but
too little time.  I have corresponded with other Perkins researchers over the past years
exchanging a ROUND ROBIN relating to Perkins research.
You have done a great deal of work.  It is much appreciated by those of us looking at Franklin Co.
Information from there appears to be very sparse.  Thanks, Claudia Ebsworth
