As the story gets more current, the details become to numerous to record, and most are still familiar to many of us still living. Someday in the future it will become necessary to finally record current family events. One day they will not be so current and someone will be asking questions like I did. I guess it is fatherhood that has brought on this sense of purpose in documenting my roots as a gift to my children. I am sure they will appreciate this at a later date; probably when they become parents.
This information was gathered by me to be shared with my immediate family, although I encourage anyone interested to look if it will help in their own research. I am not a professional genealogist or writer, so I am sure I may have some mistakes. Please let me know if you see something that is wrong.
I would also like to thank many people who helped me along the way. In no particular order;
- Mrs. Doris Mae Ledet
- Mrs. Ruth Gray
- Mr. Chris Pena
- Mr. Fernand Picou
- Mrs. Sherry Pugh at Jackson Barracks
